Keep Up The Exercise Momentum

Like I always tell my clients – I can motivate you and stretch you beyond your limits in the gym when you do your strength training. But I cannot do your runs for you. Neither can I be eating clean for you.

If I could, I would. But there are some things that you just have to get them done on your own. After all, we are all adults, right?

As a matter of courtesy but more to monitor progress, I always do a routine check with my clients to ask if they have been doing their cardio or not eating according to plan. So it really came as a pleasant surprise when one of my newest client actually did his runs on the next two days after we parted following our first session.

Wow! That certainly speaks volumes of his determination to achieve his fitness goals. I salute him!

Embarking on a fitness programme is always the most challenging in the first two weeks. This is not unexpected as you are starting to embrace a new lifestyle, something which was so alien to you just minutes ago. Have you not been the same old you all this while until you decided to change? Change is always scary as we do not know what is in store for us. But in your fitness metamorphosis, you can be rest assured that I know what I’m doing. And the earlier you start on your transformation journey, the better!

So here’s three cheers to the brave young man who is taking massive action to get the body he wants. Although his run times may not be something to shout about, the fact that he actually bothered to complete the stipulated timings each run is an achievement in itself. Take one step at a time, a little a day and you will get there! It’s all about building your exercise momentum and keeping it up.

Psst…he’s going running again tomorrow after our gym work today. And I bet you he will continue to run everyday for the next few months. So, who else is game to go running too?
