Corporate Lunchtime Health And Fitness Talk: CSC Holdings
I’m off to Tanjong Penjuru Crescent today for a lunchtime health and fitness talk. Situated in the West of Singapore among the heavy industrial estates is CSC Holdings Limited.
A listed company on the local stock exchange market, CSC Holdings Limited is Singapore’s largest foundation and geotechnical engineering specialist; and one of the region’s leading ground engineering solutions provider for private and public sector residential, commercial, institution, industrial and infrastructure projects.
In the vast openness of the hall (which so reminds me of my school days) where space is a luxury, I welcomed a smiley group of ladies and two gentlemen.
Had you all been here, you would also have loved the smiley faces and the giggly nature of the ladies in particular!
It was clear that the staff shared a very good camaraderie as they were all teasing one another when the final figures for the BMI and BMR were revealed. And as if afraid I would peep at their figures, the ladies actually used their hands to cover up their calculations…
But all hopes of wanting to escape my eyes quickly evaporated when it came to the execution of the bodyweight exercises. Sparing no efforts to leave anyone out except for obvious reasons such as pregnancy or too short skirts, all were invited to participate in the exercises after the demonstration by me, and subsequently one of the more gungho female staff.
Interestingly, when I asked the group if any exercised, several among the ladies asked rather innocently if brisk walking across the causeway would count. At that instant, I really didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. But I consoled myself that at least they did some form of exercising 🙂
My definition of exercise is any form of physical activity that gets you to perspire. Only when you perspire will you expel the toxins from your body, burn calories and fats. And that’s what we all want right? To look slim and pretty for the girls and have a toned, beach body for the guys!
All of us have a mental picture of how we would like our bodies to look like. The only challenge you have to ask yourself now is whether you are willing to take the first step out to get that ideal body. If you are, I congratulate you as every small step is a step closer to your destination. If you are still hesitant, then perhaps you need to ask yourself what’s holding you back.
