Lionel incorporates flexibility exercises in the program that are suitable for women & am glad that my training seems so different from others

“My friends thought I was a fitness fanatic as I would swim and jog about 5 times a week and add the occasional low impact aerobics. Yet strangely after all the years invested diligently in these physical activities, I was in no better shape and health than when I started in Day 1.

In fact, over the years, I got weaker and easily suffered muscle strain whenever I did simple chores like changing bed sheets or lifting grocery bags. My swimming got slower and jogging was no longer exhilarating.

A chronic back and neck condition also prevented me from using my home dumbbells or playing any form of high impact games.

When I was introduced to Lionel Lim, a personal trainer, I told him my main objective was to build core muscles and gain strength. Little did I know that there were many more muscle groups I was to work on, in order to achieve that strength, and what a lot of unused (and unheard of) muscles I had, despite the previous cardio workouts.

From the start, Lionel pushed me to the max and that was when I realized where all the deep muscles lied. Of course there were the initial aches but I got past that as my muscles got used to the training. He also made sure I have the correct posture while using the machines and free weights and is careful to substitute those exercises that may aggravate my back problem. Then he progressively piled on the weights, helping me along so that I do not stay on the same comfort level.

I appreciate the fact that he incorporates flexibility exercises in the program that are suitable for women and am glad that my training seems so different from the bulky males in the gym.

My back and neck are definitely stronger after 4 months training, which further improves my swim and jog. Friends tell me that my posture is a lot better and shoulders are straighter. I am also amazed to be able to lift up heavy stuff minus the injuries.

Lionel is both funny and serious at the same time so his training sessions have been enjoyable and achievable. I am extremely pleased with my progress and would recommend Lionel’s training to all who think they can make it on their own but failed to achieve their desired goals.”
